Mission accomplished with integrity and honor; WFLF’s Wild Horse Rescue and Recovery Program – A Historic Living Legacy

July 27, 2015 – Wild For Life Foundation, Studio City, CA: We are pleased to announce that approximately fifteen of the Spanish wild horses recently rescued by WFLF and permanently accepted under
the WFLF umbrella, including all the babies that were born in California, together with many of the incoming foals, have been successfully relocated from our transitional wild horse recovery center and into WFLF’s sanctuary. These former victims of displacement are loving life as permanent members of WFLF's Wild Horse Heritage Herd!

“WOPILA!! For 'WILD FOR LIFE FOUNDATION!' A 'LoveHeart' for Horses organization that has brought ALL Nations together to preserve a sacred relative and their sacred way of life,” said Spiritual Leader, Daniel Cualtli Yahtl Ramos of the Dine, Apache and Yamassee tribes. “Pilamaya WFLF for Loving and caring for our ancestors children. AHO!”

The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) founded the 'WFLF - M-O-N-E-R-O-MUSTANG RESCUE MISSION' as crisis intervention to save the lives of over one hundred and fifty majestic wild horses who had become stranded and in imminent risk of slaughter. Through WFLF's Wild Horse Rescue and Recovery Program, we saved their lives, provided them with the protection they needed to keep them safe from slaughter and we have preserved their historic living legacy.

"Through immense effort and with the utmost grace, integrity and honesty, WFLF transported these horses from near death to ultimate freedom,” said Jay Coskie, Vice President, the Wild For Life Foundation. “I applaud WFLF’s extraordinary commitment to its mission. WFLF’s work is an inspiration for anyone who cares about animals, and especially equines.”

BACKGROUND:
The WFLF - M-O-N-E-R-O-MUSTANG RESCUE MISSION was founded by the Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF) early in 2014 as a grassroots rescue and recovery mission to rescue and save the lives of approx one hundred and fifty wild horses after the Monero Mustangs (a New Mexico nonprofit) lost their pasture lease and nearly lost the lives of all their horses to slaughter. Sadly, the Monero’s entire herd of Mustangs had found themselves displaced and imperiled in feed lots. The Monero Mustangs group had transferred title of their horses in hopes of placing them into new forever homes. But, without the resources to house, feed and care for them, the Monero Mustangs was on the verge of losing all their horses forever.

WFLF and its dedicated team of volunteers indeed placed their lives on hold over the last eighteen months working around the clock to save these Mustangs and assure they received the care and provisions they needed. This WFLF wild horse rescue and recovery mission successfully served as crisis intervention by providing lifesaving emergency services and provisions including quality hay, veterinary medical care, transportation and housing for these imperiled and slaughter-bound Mustangs. This mission also successfully facilitated the relocation and permanent placement of approximately one hundred and fifty wild horses in small groups and in family bands, into new forever homes, natural habitat environments and rehabilitation programs.

WFLF additionally accepted approx fifty of these at risk Mustangs directly into WFLF's wild horse program and facilities, including malnourished and injured horses, pregnant and nursing mares, foals and conservation stallions. WFLF has covered all of their expenses since their arrival last summer, including their housing, feed and medical care.

Approximately thirty three of these formerly victimized horses have now been transferred for placement in sanctuary in Northern California where they can freely graze. Although WFLF has now ended its support for the Monero Mustangs NPO, and this mission is concluded, our work continues in the ongoing care and provision of feed and housing for the remaining previous Monero refugees and all the other rescued wild horses that have become permanent members of our Heritage Herd under WFLF’s program.

WFLF relies 100% on tax deductible donations to pay for these costs and our work is made possible by continued financial support from private individuals like you. Please, consider making a meaningful donation today!

As always we thank you for your support for this important cause.
For the horses~

Sincerely,
Katia Louise
