About Radar:
Radar is a little baby boy burro whose mommy was living wild in the rural foothills of Southern California together with her family of wild burros. Urban development is now infringing on their homeland and their way of life has changed. Radar's mommy and several of her family members were recently captured by local authorities to help protect them from getting hit by cars. Wild For Life Foundation recently accepted 9 of these burros into its rescue and sanctuary program. Six of the incoming burros were pregnant when they were captured. Radar is one of the little babies who life was saved through Wild For Life Foundation's Wild Burro Rescue and Recovery Mission.

The WILD FOR LIFE FOUNDATION Reaches GuideStar Platinum

For Immediate Release

Allows Donors to Focus on Progress and Results

August 17, 2016, STUDIO CITY, CA – THE WILD FOR LIFE FOUNDATION today earned the Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. By sharing metrics that highlight achievements that  the Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) is making toward its mission, the organization is helping the sector move beyond simplistic financial ratios to assess nonprofit progress.

The Wild for Life Foundation is proud of its continued commitment to excellence with an award from one of the most prestigious nonprofit watchdog groups in the country, Guidestar. This is the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar. GuideStar is among the most respected nonprofit watchdog sites available to donors.

We chose to display quantitative metrics such as the number of audience members engaged with our animal care programs, the number of animals with freedom from discomfort, hunger and thirst,  the number of favorable critic reviews/awards given by media or peers of the art, film and other multimedia we’ve produced, the number of websites and organizations (outside of our organization) that share our resources and information, the number of Saving America’s Horses’ coalition members, number of groups brought together in a coalition/alliance/partnership and the number of audience members with favorable attitudes towards the issue or interest to represent how diligently The Wild For Life Foundation is working toward achieving our mission.

"In accordance with our long-held belief in being transparent about our work,” said Wild For Life Foundation CEO Katia Louise, “we are excited to convey our organization’s results in a user-friendly and highly visual manner. We achieved Platinum by completing GuideStar’s preceding participation levels of Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each provided stakeholders with increasingly detailed organizational information ranging from basic contact information to programmatic information.
GuideStar is among the most respected nonprofit watchdog sites available to donors. GuideStar takes it upon themselves to gather and disseminate information about every single IRS-registered nonprofit organization. GuideStar provides as much information as we can about each nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance, and so much more. This information at allows donors to make the best decisions possible.

“This level of recognition represents the cornerstone of how we want to operate the Wild For Life Foundation,” said Katia Louise, “we achieve these awards by being transparent to our donors and sharing data that shows the impact we are having on our community every single day. I encourage you to visit our profile on GuideStar to see what we're all about,” added Katia Louise. “We’re thrilled that our GuideStar Platinum Nonprofit Profile and its associated benefits help us better communicate our organization’s exciting initiatives at a global scale.”

The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF), a U.S. Registered Nonprofit Charity is at the forefront of efforts to rescue, protect and provide safe harbor for at risk animals, providing the space, peaceful habitat and quality of care which they deserve. Among our greatest concerns are imperiled wild horses and burros, abused, neglected and slaughter bound wild and domestic equines, and inadequate standards of protection for America's equine population as a whole. The WFLF promotes the conservation of wild horses on their Native lands, as well as the preservation of natural ecosystems, wildlife and the prevention of cruelty to animals. The WFLF strives to provide charitable equine assisted learning activities together with equine-therapy programs to aid youth and adults in building positive life skills. The WFLF is achieving these goals through operating equine rescue, sanctuary, education and wellness programs which provide community enrichment through fostering symbiotic environmental stewardship and a healing partnership with horses.

Worldwide Release of ‘Saving America’s Horses’ Renews Hope for Mainstream Action

Awe Inspiring Landmark Premiere Spotlights Urgent Global Environmental and Humanitarian Crisis

August 12, 2016, Studio City, CA – WFLF Humanion Films today announced the release of its featurette documentary film Saving America's Horses. The powerful film contrasts shots of noble, beautiful, galloping animals with well-researched, shocking statistics and brings to screen a searing indictment of special interests and governmental agencies involved in the predatory exploits of America's horses. Viewers will be able to watch the film through Vimeo On-Demand in HD or SD on their TVs, phones, computers and tablets.

Audiences worldwide can now watch the SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES’ featurette online and share the film with their friends!  The rental of the SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES featurette includes 24 hour streaming access for just $5 through Vimeo which can also be enjoyed through iOS, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast.

SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is a powerful podium with a dynamic reach to humanitarians and animal lovers worldwide. This intelligent exposé also reveals how the public has been misled by several government agencies and corporate interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses, people and the environment.  "Saving America’s Horses helps spotlight what is becoming an urgent global humanitarian crisis – the pollution of fresh water. The RBC Blue Water Project is our commitment to protecting the lifeblood of this planet that we all need to share." — Jeff Boyd, Regional President, Ontario North and East, RBC Royal Bank

"It is the time we live in now; the moment of truth... it is time to come together and acknowledge what we are doing to ourselves" - Daniel Ramos, tribal spiritual leader.  Film North's theme; One Word, One World; Environment became the perfect conduit for “Saving America’s Horses” environmental message. Winner of Best Environmental Film in Canada, this intelligent and powerful film explores the destruction of life on our planet by looking at the pollution of fresh water, the degradation of open range lands and how we treat the animals that we share our world with; such as the horse.

“Unpacks a multi-layered conspiracy — fueled by a parade of misinformation— against the survival and proliferation of horses.”
— Gary Goldstein LA TIMES

The SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES featurette brings to screen brand new scenes and footage, plus updated statistics from the all new digitally re-mastered full length documentary film, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES: A NATION BETRAYED now slated for release through educational venues including universities, schools and libraries and onto television/ cable and DVD. The original SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES documentary won numerous awards on the international festival circuit and was then successfully released to theaters in LA and NYC in December of 2012.  The feature length film also qualified for Oscar consideration which brought the issues impacting America's horses into the mainstream.

Bringing together a wide spectrum of hard-hitting, sometimes opposing viewpoints the film lays down evidence for the Full Monty of objectionable behavior, including neglect, cruelty, deception, and profiteering. The victims run the gamut, from those who eat the meat filled with carcinogenic and other harmful drugs, to the horses themselves, wild horses poached from government land, Thoroughbred race horses who pass through the system to oblivion, domestic horses who outlive their welcome and are sent to slaughter. SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is a compelling, provocative and a rallying cry for justice and integrity.

“An intelligent, powerful film, “SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES” is like a scorched earth weapon aimed at incinerating the lies and ending horse slaughter with laser sharp truth--Agent Orange to the lying, ignorant malevolence and greed that continue to exact a terribly cruel toll on horses and people. Please support this film,” says Paula Bacon, former mayor, Kaufman, TX.  "Saving America's Horses is Fantastic! Powerful and compelling” — Greg MacGillivary, MacGillivary Freeman Films (IMAX)

Critic reviews for the feature length version of this film describe it as "A provocative rallying cry for justice and integrity" - THE QUAD CINEMA, NYC "Outstanding" - LA SPLASH MAGAZINE "Impassioned" - HOLLYWOOD REPORTER "Shocking statistics… "A searing indictment" -VARIETY "Filled with facts" - NY TIMES “A broad and balanced spectrum of opinion through interviews with veterinarians, trainers, policymakers and celebrity horsemen including Paul Sorvino and Willie Nelson, among others” - ABOUT.COM

The issues impacting America’s horses have raised international concern for the welfare of the horses, the people and the environment. Many of the nation's foremost experts and leaders in the movement have united together to have their voices heard through SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES.  With over 88,000,000 people that attend horse-related events in the USA each year, America’s interest in what’s happening to them has never been greater.

“America's horses are disappearing and along with them goes a part of us, says filmmaker, Katia Louise.  “We can't bring back those we've lost, but we have the power to make a difference for generations to come.” In an effort to save, protect and preserve wild and domestic equines, as opposed to the promotion of horse slaughter and widespread roundups throughout the American West, Saving America’s Horses’ Director, Katia Louise is calling on members of the public who care about the horses and the environment to join in a united stance for the horses with Saving America’s Horses by going to and clicking on the join button, which will continue to raise awareness and provide ongoing education on this critical issue.

The Wild For Life Foundation is thrilled about the success of SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES, and to make a real difference, philanthropic sponsorships, grants and other sources of funding are being sought to put the powerful full length feature film out into the mainstream. Proceeds from the rental of the Saving America’s Horses featurette benefit the Wild For Life Foundation charity and its Saving America’s Horses program. Donations made to the Wild For Life Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Federal ID No: 26-3052458
