Lifesaving campaign for legal aid and protection for equines threatened due to malicious acts of harm. Wild For Life Foundation calls on private and philanthropic community to join the effort.
Feb 19, 2017, Riverside, CA - Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) today announced the creation of a Legal Protection & Defense Fund to assist hundreds of rescue need equines and refugees whose lives have come under threat of malicious harm.
WFLF calls on the private and philanthropic community to join the effort to provide urgently needed legal aid for the protection of at risk horses and burros in need.
This fund speaks to the battle for the very existence of animal welfare and humanitarian rights of our community as a people to save and protect them. Tax deductible contributions will be utilized to seek injunctive relief and other urgent judicial relief and will help ensure that justice will be served for countless precious innocent animals who have no one but us to speak on their behalf.
This legal fund speaks to our ongoing commitment to protect America’s equine community and uphold the values that our country was built on; horses have played an important role in shaping our Nation and as an indigenous/ native species, wild horses indeed compliment the natural environment of North America. We stand united in our efforts and are dedicated to keeping our Nation of equines protected. “WFLF has a proud history of integrity, best practices and compassion, and our organization will do everything in our power to ensure that America’s horses and burros are safe, secure and supported. Due to recent malicious acts of harm against these innocent animals and our mission to save and protect them, we have created a legal fund to help ensure justice through judicial relief,” said founder, Katia Louise. “We need you now, more than ever, to be sure that justice is served ... and to ensure that at-risk and victimized animals are protected from acts of malicious harm. Your donation to WFLF’s Legal Protection Fund, as generous as you’re able in light of these malicious and harmful acts, will help set the record straight and set a precedent for once and for all."
“The establishment of the legal protection fund is yet another reaffirmation of WFLF’s Saving America’s Horses Initiative to our fellow rescue groups, families, and friends across the country. We at Wild For Life Foundation will not allow threats and malicious acts of harm to strip away compassion and support for America’s horses and burros,” said Vice President, Jay Coskie. America’s wild horses have been denied any type of status or protection in the US. They are instead labeled “feral” which allows them to be legally harassed, shot, rounded up and hauled off to slaughter. According to the BLM, approximately 45,000 American wild horses and burros do not have legal status for protection from elimination. And tens of thousands more are at risk of roundup from their native lands. Wild For Life Foundation strives to build its Wild Horse and Burro preservation and protection program, in order to defend the lives of America's wild equines as part of the natural ecosystem and educate people about the need for the protection of this threatened native species.
The Legal Protection Fund would work to provide immediate legal relief to aid rescue need horses and burros whom have been impacted by wrongful actions and need urgent protection now.
“Horses and burros are intelligent, sentient and social beings. Access to legal protection can have lifesaving impact for these animals and their families. Legal protection ensures that animals in our communities will be safe from harassment, and cruelty, and can truly live their lives in safety, security, and peace. Contributions to this legal protection fund are tax deductible.
This announcement is the latest in a series of actions the WFLF charity has taken to remind all fellow humanitarians and horse advocates that WFLF is dedicated to protecting, saving, preserving and defending horses and burros from harm, harassment and cruelty.
Since founding WFLF and its Saving America’s Horses Initiative, Katia Louise has launched a series of powerful educational platforms, successful rescue missions, outreach and advocacy programs and initiatives that have saved and protected hundreds of at risk American horses and burros from starvation, abuse, neglect, abandonment, roundups and slaughter.
